Glasmuseet Ebeltoft recieves no direct financial support from the state, but is supported by The Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Syddjurs County Council. The museum's financial basis rests on income from admission fees and sponsorship funding, which means that the museum's exhibition plans must be ambitious making it attractive for sponsors to support the museum. As a rough outline, the income gained from admission fees is used to cover the general running and administration costs of the museum, while the exhibition projects have to be financed with the help of private sponsors and foundations.

This makes the museum very vulnerable, but on the other hand, it means that the museum is forced into being very effective and financially consicious so that sponsors continually find the museum attractive to support.To enable us to fulfil our ambitious exhibition programme, Glasmuseet Ebeltoft has entered into sponsor agreements with:
